Patrick Bergin without the moustache looks completely different.
Not a bad period drama with sexy Theresa Russell and about 200 cows 🐄 🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄 -

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Film #24 in my 90'svember: 2014 Edition film-fest.
From the same studio who brought us Jack Frost (not the Michael Keaton family film), Uncle Sam (not the documentary short from acclaimed director Jason Reitman), and Phantom of the Opera (the horrendous Dario Argento version). A-Pix Entertainment. Which should tell you most of what you need to know up-front.
So, I never managed to see Showgirls but I think I saw a clip once where a guy said: "you have to sell it sooner or later." All foreshadowy and the like. Well, in mission statement terms, that's what The Proposition is about.
Theresa Russell, one of the most sexual women in 80's cinema, plays a Strong Independent Woman in Euro Period-Piece-Land…

the Scooby doo punch sound effects and the concerted effort to do any accent but a Welsh one really made this movie

this movie had beautiful scenery IF it wasnt so dark & hard to see. My biggest complaint with the movie is how hard the action is to see. Other than that, a pretty solid plot, just wished we could have gotten more of the characters interacting, especially mother & daughters.

Was looking for the 2005 Australian Western and accidentally watched this one. Got way more tongue than I expected.
The accents threw me off enough to get well into this one before wondering what the ones who recommended the 2005 film to me were thinking. I'm going to go with, they were likely thinking I should avoid this one and watch the one from 2005. And although I havent seen that one yet, I can tell you that is probably very good advice.

Barring the lower quality of the cinematography from 1996, this was better than expected. Surprised to see a young Richard Harrington and overall, not a bad film.

I liked this so much more than I expected to. An interesting period piece love story that’s sexier than it has the right to be.

Why oh why is Theresa Russel in this movie. There are hundreds of English actresses who should have done this role. Awful fake accent.
